First and MOST IMPORTANT- UNPLUG THE GLOW PLUG AND INTAKE HEATER CONTROL CONNECTOR. Then take the air filter out, and with your helper, have them crank the engine. Sounds like its loosing communication with crank sensor. IIRC and if I remember correctly, if the 3 bolts on the reluctor gear loosen and fall out into the oil pan, your truck will have this symtom. Ive seen 1 other truck in person do this, but that is worst case. There is only 1 crank sensor ...
