23K subscribers in the Trombone community. so I’m in 8th grade and I’m in the top band and my trombone teacher is expecting me to play double high A in a low brass quartet which in my opinion is a little high for trombone and I would say a good highest note range for like early high school and late middle is like a double high f reaching for g type deal but idk and for low if you can kinda ...Tip: Notes on the 6 th partial (starting with Ab in 1 st position) are naturally flat so all positions on that partial need to be shorter than usual (e.g. high G is played in a short 2 nd position). The high Ab in 1 st position is not usable for this reason. There are as many partials on a trombone as a player can buzz. The sky is the limit.
