But in all the books subsequently written about the elevated park built on an abandoned railway above Manhattan’s gritty West Side, one voice was missing, that of the renowned artist of naturalistic landscapes who designed the High Line’s plantings, Piet Oudolf. The Chelsea Market bathrooms are not on the map, although they exist. Nor are the port-o-sans (Summer only, I think) at the street level dining near 30th Street, and at the Standard Beer Garden, North of Gansevoort. New York is not well equipped with public toilets, and the High Line is no exception. But at least there are a few within reach.
