80 effaced 2cm dilated

Posted 12-30-14. FTM 38 weeks today. Went to the doctor this morning and was told I was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. Not due till January 13th and was really hoping he could make it till January. Is there a chance for jan birth still?.

Both times I went to the hospital they told me my contractions were consistent'y 5 minutes apart for the 2 + hours I was there each time, but nothing going on with my cervix which is weird, because by now I am normally around 2 cm dilated. :( I don't want to have baby early but I wish stuff would start happening lol.
