Polaris ranger won't start
Just cranks and cranks, but won't fire. Took about 2-3 minutes of repeated attempts to get it started, it does. Turn around and try to head back to my driveway, slow speed, get about 100 yards, it sputters and dies again. This time, it simply won't start, just cranks and cranks, won't fire... Cant remember the exact hours / miles Lets say 200 Hrs Maybe 1000 miles. 1) It will NOT start without holding the gas pedal to the floor. 2) Wont idle in gear, wont hardly even go in gear. If it does, you have to hit the gas to keep it from dying.

Spray starting fluid into the intake while cranking the engine - if it starts on starting fluid, you eliminate the engine and ignition system as potential problems - check the fuel pressure or replace the fuel pump or both. I have a Ranger here, not sure on the size 500 maybe. Single cylinder carbureted. Cranks but wont fire, not even with a shot of starting fluid. The carb has been gone through by a dealer, new spark plug, spark will jump about a 1" gap, fuel pump works fine, valves have been adjusted, compression is at about 150. It wont even pop on starting fluid.2018 570 midsize won't stay running. I have a 2018 570 midsize that will start right up and run for a couple minutes then shuts off like the key was turned off. I can turn the key off and then turn it back on and it will start again but will run about half as long as it did the first time. it will run about half as long each time that I start it.
