I'm a huge fan of the combination of Cleric and Wizard. My personal favorite is 1st lvl Knowledge and the rest Wizard (Abjuration). The main requirement is Wis: 13, but at that point you should be rocking a Wis:14, there are benefits for going for the 16, but the sacrifices probably aren't worth it unless you're rolling for stats and get lucky.When building a Necromancer, picking a race is entirely dependent on the class chosen. Those going for the Wizard build will want to choose one that buffs their Intelligence. Gnomes and Vedalken both start out with +2 INT, which will get them closer to maxing that stat. This build is focused mostly on healing and swinging a two handed weapon such as a greatsword or maul. It excels at low level combat allowing one to solo most quests.
